You shouldn't have asked on this one. It's practically illegible and unreadable. It needs a good editor to make whole words and to be organized so that it makes some sense. I actually found an ancestor of mine but it was so ill organized that I couldn't find out who had been the parents and children, which is the important part. I have no idea what that genealogy code means so that I could follow the generations. I'm sure there was some useful information but even I who have never given up reading any book couldn't make head nor tail of it. Some people said in the reviews that it was due to the way it was transferred to the media, I don't know. Some things didn't even resemble words. I paid .99 and that may have been too much.Product details

History of the Cherokee Indians and their legends and folk lore eBook Emmet Starr Reviews
The formatting of this book has characters in place of the subscript numbering that is crucial to understanding the family generations. I had to borrow my fathers old paper version and download the free google version to translate my families history. The content is invaluable to those researching Cherokee old settler families (those who voluntarily moved to Indian Territory in the early 1800s) if you can get past this poor translation.
Thoughtful record of some of the early families of Cherokee history. Not a novel. Very difficult to follow the individual family lineage from generation to generation. Somewhat useful in research.
I am sure the book itself is somewhere around a four or five star for researchers of Cherokee heritage. However, this version is useless as it was scanned electronically and not edited at all, making much of it impossible to read. How in the world has gotten away with this? There is no indication when you purchase it that it is not actually a readable book. customer service deteriorates daily, but this is just plain duping their customers into buying a product that should not be sold.
Returned my copy because it was illegible. Received my replacement copy, which was also un-readable. Returned the replacement for a full refund. Will NOT purchase this book with this cover on it again. The copy with a Cherokee family on the cover should be OK.
This is a "classic" work, written by one I believe was a member of the well-known Starr family of the Western Band. Though I haven't finished, it does contain important background on some of the important people of the early tribe. Unfortunately, many of the references and a considerable amount of text suffer code-euthanasia in translation from computer language to much is unintelligible. Despite this, the version contains valuable information--probably worth the low price and should be a good starting point in the decision whether to purchase hard copy.
Purchased this book to research the Cherokee people for my historical novel. I didn't realize it was a POD book, nor that the original had 112 pages with the right-hand column cut off! Decided to keep the book as there is enough information to check out the name, if I need it. However, the original would have the info I need.

The book content is probably all right if you could read it . Unfortunately it appears to be photocopied and probably half the page is unreadable - anything to the right margin you cannot read . This book should not even be offered as it does it does Disservice to history. I would encourage you to save your money - do not purchase this book . I Purchased it to be able to do scholarly work and it is unfit for this purpose. Several people I wanted to research we’re unfortunately in the right hand margin which is not legible and in many cases is not even there!
